What I love most about Dominican University is that all the faculty make it their duty to see you succeed.  After receiving a BSN from the College in 2018, I decided to go back to Dominican University and enroll in the FNP program in 2020. This program has shaped me into a strong, confident person with a knowledge base that I know will aid me greatly in my career.  The program is shaped in an accommodating and convenient manor that allows students to work full time as nurses and still attend class and clinical. The instructors, especially AnneMarie McDermott, have pushed me to become the best version of myself and helped me to realize my full potential. 

Dominican University played a significant role in shaping my nursing career. I earned two bachelor’s degrees here, and in May 2025, I will complete my Master’s as a Family Nurse Practitioner. As a registered nurse today, I can confidently say that the education I received at Dominican has been invaluable. The professors are not only knowledgeable but also deeply caring. They empower students to continue learning, pursue their passions, and rise to new challenges. Dominican doesn’t just provide an education—it fosters a community where students are seen as individuals, with professors who go above and beyond to guide and support them toward success. When I decided to pursue my FNP, there was no doubt in my mind that Dominican was the right choice. The quality of the professors, the care for their students, and the commitment to the nursing profession made all the difference. After earning my BSN from Dominican University, I enrolled in the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program two years later, and it was an excellent decision. The program provided a fantastic opportunity to further my education while working full-time. The faculty at Dominican truly care about their students’ success, offering guidance and support throughout the process. Thanks to the solid foundation the FNP program provided, I was able to successfully pass my board exam and refine the skills needed to become a competent and confident nurse practitioner. I am forever grateful for the education and mentorship I received at Dominican University.
