Annual Christmas Concert

A cherished Dominican University tradition continues on Sunday, December 8, 2024, with Dominican University's Annual Christmas Concert featuring the renowned Reverend Alphonse Stephenson and the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea.

The concert will take place at 2:00 PM in the Hennessy Center on the Dominican University Campus at 495 Western Highway, Blauvelt, NY.

This festive event will showcase 42 classically-trained musicians, under the direction of Father Alphonse, who famously served as the conductor and musical director for the Broadway hit A Chorus Line during its 1980s run. The orchestra includes a Harpist and is accompanied by exceptional vocalists - this lineup includes some of the finest talents in the region and performs sold-out shows all over the tri-state area.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

This conference began in the 1980’s. Late each Spring semester, during the last 1-2 weeks of school, Dominican University Psychology Program hosts an undergraduate psychology conference.  All Dominican Psychology majors present their capstone research at the conference as part of their senior seminar (PS472) requirements. Most students present their research orally using PowerPoint slides but occasionally present posters.

The conference is open to any undergraduate students who wish to present psychological research or theoretical papers, regardless of whether they are students in PS472. In addition, other universities and high schools are welcome to present or attend (high school students are limited to presenting posters unless they receive special permission from the Conference Coordinator).
