
Nick Marter
Executive Director of AdmissionsNick Marter serves as the Executive Director of Admissions at Dominican University New York (DUNY), focusing on creating opportunities for students to access and thrive in higher education. With a strong background in recruitment, admissions, and strategic planning, Nick’s work centers on supporting students and their families as they navigate the college journey.
Nick earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor of Arts in History with a concentration in Adolescent Education from St. Joseph’s College. His educational and professional experiences reflect a commitment to fostering inclusive, student-centered environments.
Prior to joining DUNY, Nick held leadership roles at Vaughn College of Aeronautics & Technology and Manhattan College. In these positions, he worked collaboratively to enhance recruitment strategies, develop impactful outreach programs, and integrate new technologies to better engage with prospective students and their communities.
At DUNY, Nick oversees undergraduate and graduate admissions while working closely with various departments to support student success. He also contributes to dual enrollment initiatives, partnering with high schools to provide students with early access to college-level coursework. Additionally, Nick collaborates with the Student Financial Services Office to ensure students and families have access to the financial resources they need.
Nick actively participates in professional organizations such as the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling (NYSACAC). Through these affiliations, he engages with peers to share best practices and advocate for policies that benefit students and institutions.
Outside of his professional role, Nick enjoys exploring the Hudson Valley and participating in community activities. His dedication to education and service continues to shape his work at DUNY, where he strives to create meaningful experiences for all students.
