Your Next Steps
1. Visit the Campus
A complete list of upcoming events is maintained here. Choose the one that’s right for you. You can also schedule an individual weekday tour by appointment. Contact your Admissions Counselor for more information and to set up a date for your visit.
2. Apply for Financial Aid
You must file a FAFSA at StudentAid.gov to be considered for need-based financial aid from Dominican University. Make sure to provide our school code: 002713.
The sooner you file, the faster you will receive a financial aid offer letter from Dominican University.
3. Submit your enrollment deposit by logging into your status page
An enrollment deposit is required for every incoming freshman student. The enrollment deposit secures your place in the freshman class.
- Resident Students are required to pay an enrollment deposit of $500.
- Commuter Students are required to pay an enrollment deposit of $300.
The enrollment deposit can be paid by credit card, check, cash or money order. You can also pay online using our secure payment form.

Take your Online Assessment
Take your assessment online from home. Go to www.duny.edu/placement, follow the instructions for each section, and start your assessments. If you have any questions, please contact your admissions counselor. You must complete the assessments before you can receive your schedule.
Meet with the New Student and Transition Center
After you receive your schedule, we highly recommend you meet with a member of the New Student and Transition Center (NSTC) to learn more about how to read your new schedule and ask any questions you have about the transition to college life. Katie and Autumn are both Dominican University alumna and can’t wait to meet you!
- For last names starting with A-L, please schedule an appointment with Katie Anderson.
- For last names starting with M-Z, please schedule an appointment with Autumn Blankenbush.
Submit Immunization Records
Please submit your immunization paperwork as soon as possible. You can do this through our Patient Portal.
Finalize your Housing plans
If you’re planning to live in one of the Residence Centers, please complete and return the Housing Packet as soon as possible.
The housing packet is being emailed out by the Office of Residence Life.
Provide your Official Transcript by August 1.
All incoming students must provide a copy of their official high school transcripts with the school seal and graduation dates by August 1st. Final, official transcripts can be sent to the Office of Admissions via the CommonApp or directly from your High School Counselor. Your graduation date and a signature from a school official must be visible on the transcript in order to be considered official. Transcripts sent in from anyone other than a school official are not considered official.
